Portrait tattoos
A portrait has one job: look like who it's supposed to be. That comes down to the reference photo and the hands you put it in.

Joey Malia does black and grey realism portraits with smooth, photographic tone. Tommy Solace does portraits in black and grey or color, pets included. Sarah Jane Zow does stylized neo-traditional portraits with ornamental frames and flowers.
Getting it right
- Start with your sharpest photo. Good light, in focus, face filling the frame. Group shots and tiny crops lose detail.
- Size it for the face. Eyes and features need room to read. Your artist will suggest a size.
- Pick the style. Photo realism, color, or neo-traditional are three very different results.

Yes. Tommy's portfolio has pet portraits in color. Send clear photos of the pet with your request.
Can you work from an old or blurry photo?
Sometimes. Send it and the artist will tell you if there's enough to work with.
